did ur friend’s car had insurance?? if yes, ur covered, if not, start saving money… thats the only way i see it
Police were scaring you. I seriously doubt you’ll lose your license. If you leave the scene of an accident without filing a report I you can get your license suspended…. but that’s not gonna happen. If it was your fault, offer to pay to fix the guys car. Your roomates car insurance will also cover it but that will cause his rates to go up and I’m not sure if you want to do that.
You should consider yourself lucky . I have known people to lose them for a lot longer than that. Never drive a car unless you are covered. Insurance is a rip off but it’s the best we’ve got. Oh, some insurance only cover driver twenty one or above. It depends on the coverage bought.
i’m an insurance adjuster in nj. since your friend has insurance everything is covered. insurance follows the vehicle. file a claim with your friends insurance company and the other guys vehicle will be taken care of.
Insurance follows the car — so tell your roommate to call his/her insurance company and come clean. Leaving the scene of an accident is a pretty serious matter but most likely the cop was just trying to rattle your cage. Just answer all the questions honestly and learn to drive!
Your friends insurance will pay for the damage. You sound like you will get charged for the accident (& hit & run?). It would be a good idea to get your own insurance policy before you go to court for this mess. You may want to try a website that compares multiple companies at once to get you the best price. I am paying less than ½ after I did.
