male teen car insurance?

im turning 17 in february, living in new jersey…im trying to get a bmw 330ci which my parents said i could get unless the insurance goes up reason being that it is a 2 door…most 2 doors r considered sports cars i think but is a bmw 3 series coupe really considered one, i mean its not like its an m3 and its going to be automatic obviously but would the insurance go up for that car?

Only your insurance company can give you a definitive answer to your question. But generally, yes, any 2 door vehicle is considered a sports car, and the charges go up accordingly.
Let me say you will be paying “out the butt” for insurance. First you are a young male teen, that right there gives you high rates. You are a new driver, driving a new luxury sportscar. That is a red flag right there!
I’m 20 years old and I drive what is considered a sportscar and my rates are outrageous. I don’t have any tickets or accidents, and my insurance is still high.
Your insurance will be high no matter what. It won’t go down until you are 25. I’m just telling you from experience.
i would recommend calling progressive ins. and getting a quote.
